It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.

If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!

[With his dad in town on auror business, Hiccup had taken the opportunity to go shopping in Diagon Alley for his school supplies. Living on a small island like Berk meant having to mail order most things, and even then you really had to come into town for some of the more obscure items. With Toothless riding around in the hood of his muggle jacket like usual, comforting warm breath brushing over his neck, Hiccup pulled out his list.]

Okay, bud, where to first?

[Dean can't help but notice Toothless. He cautiously walks up and tries to catch Hiccup's attention.]

Is.. is that a real dragon?

[The question catches Hiccup's attention and he immediately jumps, Toothless feeling the vibration enough to poke his head out of Hiccup's hoodie in curiosity, ears flaps perking forward as he stared.]

A-a dragon? [He makes a 'pfft' noise.] He's not a dragon, he's a Toothless Daydream, a rare lizard species that just...looks like a dragon.

Oh. I never heard of that kind before!

[Yup, he's just gonna take it at face value.]

He's super neat-o, either way! Where'd you get him?

[Oh well that's good. It took him ages to think up that excuse for school he didn't want to think up another one. Toothless crawls along his arm, which he holds out a little.]

That's because they're only found around my hometown. I've had him since I was a kid.

[Dean leans a little closer, keeping his hands close to his chest.]

Wow.. you're lucky! He's really pretty!

[He bites his lip.] C-can I pet him?

Quality Quidditch Supplies

[Hey Hiccup, have your giant Beater browsing the shelves of helmets and protection, unaware that his captain is in the same shop. What do?]

[Hey, Hiccup. A girl's coming up behind you in Quality Quidditch Supplies in her Slytherin Quidditch robes she'd just gotten mended, and she covers your eyes with her hands as you're looking at something important, trying to catch you off guard.]

[Oh boy does it catch him off guard. He nearly jumps out of his skin as he studies a book titled Great Qudditch Tactics of the Era, Toothless poking his head out of the hood of his muggle sweatshirt to say hi to Astrid with a gummy smile and a yawn.]

I swear I don't have anything illegal on me, officer.

[theeggsexplode]

[Toothless! Astrid removes her hands from the boy's eyes to scratch at the dragon's scales in greeting.]

Relax, I'm not cuffing you.

[She walks around to face Hiccup, grinning teasingly - she's just being playful, though.]

You know we're going to cream you this year at Quidditch, but it's still nice that you Gryffindors try.
