A New School Year [OPEN LOG]

It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.

If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!

[No but really.

There is no way Malkins could miss the sudden tension in the air, but if anything she seems rather amused by it. She chuckles and gives Danny a fond smile.]

I've been well, thank you Danny. You'll need refitting, won't you? Well come hop right up, I can hope you and Sawyer.

[She indicated the stool next to Sawyer. Clearly this woman was evil]

[Clearly. Well. She gave him an order, he wasn't going to ignore her. Danny hops up on the stool and shrugs out of the robes he was already in.]

[He's so bad at sitting still, though, so he sways a bit. He chances a short glance at Sawyer.]

I'll go and get a robe, just you wait here.

[With that Malkin walked to the back of the store, leaving the two alone.

Cue awkward silence. Sawyer just stared straight ahead. Her arms were beginning to get tired holding them up like this but she was full of pins and not about to mess up Malkin's work.

She didn't mean to be so hostile towards Danny. He seemed like an okay guy, but after an entire year of suffering mishap after mishap at his hands well. It was hard not to hold a grudge.]

[It wasn't like he'd planned on making her whole school year suffering. Quite the opposite! He really liked Sawyer, despite her apparent rough edges. It just seemed like bad luck followed him every time he was around her.]

[Ugh, this silence was terrible though.]

Soooo....um. How was your summer?

[Whelp. Even Sawyer wasn't so mean as to completely ignore someone who had spoken to her. With a small huff she turned her head to look at him]

Busy. Took up some jobs--glamorous retail and some wonderous bookkeeping. Yours?
