A New School Year [OPEN LOG]

It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.
If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!
( Kicking things off with a quick and easy log! Threads may take place anywhere in Diagon Alley, with any characters that will be heading to Hogwarts. Feel free to threadjack, threadhop, or create multiple threads depending on if you want others to hop in when you change locations! Most importantly, have fun! )

Wands! [ Dale grinned gleefully, showing the prominent gap between his front teeth. Nothing in the whole list made him as excited as the thing that would let him do magic- real magic! He pushed his nose against the glass and looked at the shop which was- a lot dustier and boring than he expected. Just a lot of boxes on shelves and an old man. Yawn. ]
Aw, man... Oh! Hey! [ A boy who's his size! He must be a first year too! He skips over to the boy and speaks so fast it's difficult to understand him. ] You going to the magic school too?
AHHCUUTE
[The little boy looks up from where he'd been lazily swinging his legs over the edge of the bench. He looks sort of out of place compared to the rest of the witches and wizards walking around him, since he's wearing his muggle clothes from the orphanage.
He grins big at the mention of the school though and nods, lifting a hand to brush his bangs from his eyes.]
Uh-huh! I still gotta get my wand though.
[AND BOY IS HE EXCITED.]
:DD !
Me too! I'm so excited for the wand! And the potions! And- everything! [ He's very expressive, waving his little hands and arms around as he mimes everything. Another toothy grin as he rubs his nose once he's done. ]
I'm so bummed about the dorky hats we have to wear though. And the bathrobes! [ He wrinkles his nose and makes a face. ]

I 'unno, I think it's pretty cool. 'Least we get to have clothes.
[While yes they did strike him as a little odd, Roo was thankful that he was actually getting robes to begin with. For a while there he was worried the ladies from the orphanage would have to sew together some patchwork robe for him to wear.]

[ He frowns. That would be much weirder. ]
As long as they have pockets I guess they're alright. I'd miss those a lot.
[ He enjoys stuffing things in them too much- like food, mostly. And small animals. ]

Yeah, I like stuff with pocket on'em. Makes it easier t'hold things, right?
