A New School Year [OPEN LOG]

It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.
If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!
( Kicking things off with a quick and easy log! Threads may take place anywhere in Diagon Alley, with any characters that will be heading to Hogwarts. Feel free to threadjack, threadhop, or create multiple threads depending on if you want others to hop in when you change locations! Most importantly, have fun! )

[His dad had practically been scarred last time.]
But yeah, I got most of my stuff!
[He holds out his own bag like a trick-or-treater and smiles his tiny smile before putting the bag back over his back. Magical bags were great- carrying cauldrons and the like was a chore.]
And what about yours?
no subject
[Aaaw yeeaaah stupid magical kids unsupervised in Diagon Alley it was practically the perfect thing before the school year got started--
At least it was until Norman asked the question. Awkward.]
Naaah, they're at home, like always. The Traveling Circus Business is kind of a lucrative one I guess. And they're not really big on all the magical stuff.
[Juuust a shrug.]

That's cool. Do you have any pictures from the circus?
[Well, it seemed cool, anyway. Much better than home-- but Hogwarts was even better than that.]
no subject
Hm... I don't think I have any pictures, but I think I have one of our posters.
[He set some of the books down and started digging through his back with his now-free hand. After a moment, he pulled his hand back out, producing a circus poster advertising the trapeze act as the "Flying Aquatos," and handing it to Norman.]
It's not that interesting, to be honest. Mostly it's just a lot of work and people yelling at you.
no subject
Well, if you ever wanna practice and need an audience, I'd like to see. Only if you want to, though.
[Carefully coiling the poster back up, Norman hands it back to Raz and nods.]
I only ever went to one circus and back where I live they weren't exactly good ones. The ghosts had pretty cool stories to tell, though.
no subject
Sure! But I think last time I tried climbing in the common room I got yelled at by Ms. Smollet. [Whoooops.
More importantly!]
You met ghost circus performers? What were they like?!
no subject
Yeah! They were so cool. There was this one guy who fractured his collarbone and broke his neck when he fell from the tightrope, but really he thinks it was actually his brother who oiled the middle of it to make him fall so he could steal his girlfriend. But then the brother fell off the ladder and broke his neck too, so they kind of just fight all the time behind the ring.
[Norman you are so... animated about this.]
no subject
It was a good thing Raz was listening intently then, with how worked up Norman seemed to be over it. He couldn't help but start laughing at the end though.]
Hahah, seriously?! Man, we never had stuff like that happen at my circus! I don't think anyone would even think about how to get oil all the way up there. No one's creative enough to think of murder plots.
no subject
I dunno, maybe you just missed them. Maybe I'll find a way to come see your show, pick out all your ghosts.
no subject
And then he remembers oh wait.]
Uuuhhh... that's probably not a good idea. I don't think my dad would appreciate one of my friends talking about ghosts.
