A New School Year [OPEN LOG]

It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.

If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!

[As if tripping over his own feet wasn't embarrassing on a regular basis, Max had managed to do it not once but twice so far today. With an annoyed sigh, the Hufflepuff ran a hand through his hair, leaning against a wall near Florean Fortescue's. It had taken him forever to get rid of his dad and even now he couldn't escape the embarrassing fact that he was a Goof. Going back to school was going to be a nice break from his father's nagging all summer, even if it was school.]

[Sawyer really isn't the type to go chatting up people. She usually just keeps to her books and business but hey. Max is a fellow Hufflepuff, and younger than her and no matter how ornery she can be at times she has her mothering side buried deep down.]

Hello Max. How was your summer?

[When she spoke, there's a definite change to Max's demeanor. He blinks before he straightens himself just slightly, rubbing the back of his neck.]

H-hey, Sawyer. It was pretty okay. Got dragged on this crazy road trip while my dad did auror stuff but y'know how it goes.

[Well that certainly perked her interest]

A roadtrip? That sounds like it could have been fun. Was it?

[Max can breathe a bit of a sigh of relief, because the attention might be drawn slightly elsewhere this year, as far as Hufflepuffs will be concerned.

Just in front of him walks Roo, who is having quite a hard time getting used to his "new" second-hand robes. The smallest size was still two sizes too big for the child, and he's been tripping and stumbling ever since he put them on.

Right as he passes Max his foot catches the edge of the robes for the tenth time, and with a cry of surprise he lurches forwards and tumbles onto the pavement in front of Max's feet.]

[Dean is super frazzled and nervous from running all over Diagon Alley in search of his brother. He's not used to crowds at all. He notices Max leaning against the wall, and assumes he's just a chill dude hanging back from the hustle and bustle.

He walks up and points to an empty spot next to him.]
