A New School Year [OPEN LOG]

It's almost time for school! Time for the yearly trip back to Diagon Alley. New books, potion ingredients, and robe fittings? Absolutely. First years? Go get your wands. More importantly, now's the time to catch up with old friends and see how they've been over the summer.
If it's your first time to Diagon Alley, maybe you can catch someone heading in to show you the way? Don't worry, there's always a helpful witch or wizard about to guide the Muggleborns to the right location if they get a little lost!
( Kicking things off with a quick and easy log! Threads may take place anywhere in Diagon Alley, with any characters that will be heading to Hogwarts. Feel free to threadjack, threadhop, or create multiple threads depending on if you want others to hop in when you change locations! Most importantly, have fun! )

Twilfitt and Tatting's / The streets~~
Wiggling in place, Jacklyn turned around in a huff, pressing her back against the window. No point in looking at what you can't have. Pulling her list out of her bag, Jacklyn eyed it thoughtfully. Where to next-? And where had Jack run off to? ]
no subject
So...
[She points through the window.]
You like those?
no subject
Some of them!
[ She pointed inside at a few robes that really caught her eye. ]
Those right there are designed to move with you while you walk. And those, over there, come in a gorgeous navy blue. [ Jacklyn was a bit of a girly girl, she'd admit it. But she really only liked a few of the things in the store; some were way too constricting for her taste. They didn't give her enough room to move around. ] It's kind of fun to dress up and look nice once and a while. Or I guess think about dressing up in this case.
[ She laughed a little. ]

[Well, Eep had to admit, the robes that moved with one while they walked sounded good. But overall, as she looked through the window, she was unimpressed. She pressed her face against the glass and pointed to a particularly complicated and restrictive looking set of dressrobes.]
What about those? Is it fun to think about dress up in those?
no subject
Uh no. Definitely not. How would you do anything in those? [ She was confused by the very idea of them. ] Girl's gotta move! Also breathe.
no subject
Then I understand. The way some people like to dress up confuses me.
no subject
[ She picked up the ends of her braids, showing off the ribbons on the end. ] They're cute, plus they keep my hair tied up. Perfect, am I right? [ Jack winked. ]
no subject
You have to be able to do things. If you can't do thing, it's boring.
[And she would know.]
I like you ribbons! They're pretty.
no subject
[ Jack brightened at the compliment. ] Thanks! I was hoping to pick up some new ones while I was here. Spice up the collection and all that.
[ She looked over at the high-class store. ] Just not, you know, here-here. Their ribbons probably cost a fortune.
no subject
Yeah, the ones here must cost a lot. There must be better places to find some.

Or it would have been, if she hadn't spied Jacklyn's distinctive head popping out of the crowd. Skidding to a stop, San turns sharply and slides right down the shingled roof to land in a crouch right next to the unsuspecting fourth-year, mask and all.]
no subject
Jeez, San, hello to you too! [ A smile flickered across her face, but her eyebrows were still knit in a slightly wry expression. It was good to see San, unexpected drop in's and all. ]
no subject
...of course that means he's not looking where he's going, resulting in him accidentally running right into Jacklyn with a dull 'oof!'. The collision causes him to drop his bag, sending assorted candies rolling down the cobblestones.]
no subject
Whoa, kiddo! [ She shot out a hand to support him. ] You alright there?
no subject
[He nods quickly, taking her hand without thinking. His expression falls when he sees that he spilled...pretty much all of his candy though.]
Aw...
no subject
[ Her eyebrows knit as she looked at the scattered sweets. Once a glorious bag of sugar, now dashed on the rocks. Kingdoms come and kingdoms go, she supposed; but at least the candy shop was still open. Jacklyn looked down at Jamie and smiled brightly. ]
You know, I suddenly have a very large craving for chocolate frogs. Would you like to come with me? There might be some in it for you too, if you help me carry the bag. [ She gave him a playful wink. ]
no subject
[He blinks, his frown immediately switching into a smile. Though he does feel bad he lost the candy, there's no way he'd turn down such an offer.]
no subject
[ Oh good, he cheered up. That's one crisis averted. She lightly tugged on his hand. ]
C'mon, lets go!
no subject
Comin'!
no subject
I'm Jacklyn. Jacklyn Frost. What's your name, kid?
no subject
My name's Jamie. Jamie Bennett!

[Koz is not above enabling her at all. Besides, he's got time to kill.]
no subject
You're very sweet, Koz, but I hate trying on things I can't buy. What if I fall in love? Completely unfair to my poor wallet who'd like to help me out but just plain can't.
[ She straightened up a little bit and gave him a brighter, fuller smile. ]
I do plan on going to Madame Malkin's though and I'd love a second opinion-?
no subject
[He's teasing her.]
If you need one I'd be happy to go along, though I cannot guarantee that she won't have a mild stroke when seeing me again.
no subject
She's stronger than she looks. Come on, there are ribbons waiting to be purchased.
[ She offered him her arm and gave an expectant look, batting an eyelash. Koz was always fun to tease; he played along. ]
